Our Team | Alpaslan Bümen
Alpaslan BÜMEN graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Computer Science Engineering. He started his career at IBM Solution Partner Ayker A.Ş., Izmir office in 1993. In December 1994, he worked as an IBM server and system engineer until he left for compulsory military service and took an active role in R.J. Reynolds Torbalı factory and KİPA Hypermarket Bornova system installation projects.
After completing his military service as a reserve officer in the Information Systems Department of the The ministry of defence Archive Directorate, he worked as an R&D engineer, system support specialist, project manager and regional manager in Komtek Ltd. Şti., Peritus Bilgisayar (IBM Solution Partner), Batı Bilgi İşlem (Logo Business Solutions Support Center) organizations respectively.
Between 2003 and 2010, he provided IT consultancy and system support services to different sectors and businesses with the legal entity İDEBİLİM Ltd. Şti. which he co-founded. In addition, during this period, he took part in large-scale and big-budget events and projects under contract:
* Deputy Chairman of the IT Commission (5 months) during the preparation period of Universiade 2005, Izmir (23rd World University Games) and “Technology Operation Center Manager” during the games period under contract with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality,
* Due to my experience in Sports Competitions Event Solutions, this time I was appointed as “System Integration and Data Center Manager” for the 1st Black Sea Games held in Trabzon in 2007 with the approval of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Youth and Sports, under contract with the main subcontractor Metaksan A.Ş,
* AKUVATUR Akuvakültür A.Ş. (Aquaculture) ERP implementation/adaptation and BI integration project manager between 2008 and 2010,
* At the end of 2010, he worked as the project manager of MC (Materials Control) and Micros POS system that will work integrated with FIDELIO front office application for 13 hotels located in different locations in Turkey within Anemon Turizm ve İnşaat A.Ş. In the light of the experiences gained, his focus of interest, desire for learning and expertise shifted from systems engineering to business and process analysis, ERP, data analysis and modeling, business intelligence. When the search and initiatives he started for this purpose yielded positive results, he went to Kelly Business School, Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana USA in the fall semester of 2011 with special permission/invitation and took “Big Data & Data Mining Techniques” and “Conquer the Chaoses in Business Life” master courses.
After his education, when he returned to Turkey in early 2012, he took on the task of developing QBiz Business Intelligence application, creating training programs and positioning them in customers as “BI projects manager” within Halıcıoğlu Software Ltd. Şti. (Hayadasoft). In this process, the business intelligence solution was successfully adapted and Simeco Isı Ekipmanları (TEKA Group) offered him the role of “Business/Process Development and Information Systems Manager”. Between 2013 and 2018, he was the manager of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R/3 ERP implementation and adaptation project for all departments/disciplines as well as information systems manager at Simeco A.Ş., which produces OEM kitchen equipment (cookers, ovens, hoods) under TEKA brand. In addition, he completed the Executive MBA program at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Ege University in 2016.
At the end of 2017, following the change in the organizational structure of TEKA Group (Heritage B Holding), he left his job in May 2018 as a result of the changes and decisions taken in senior management including in Turkey.
Then, he started to work as IT Group Manager in Üniteks Tekstil A.Ş., which has been included in the ISO top 500 large industrial enterprises list every year since 2010, as of December 2018. Until April 2023, he led a team of 10 people and managed all IT processes with an annual IT OPEX budget of approximately 700K USD. In parallel, he managed digital solutions architecture projects and industry-specific Extreme ERP migration, adaptation and customization project.
With more than 30 years of experience in ERP migration, implementation, adaptation and/or improvement projects in 2024, he strives to learn and add value for life as an independent consultant on all MIS (Management Information System) solutions.
